Day 2 – See Your Future

Bible

Read Exodus 3

Key Verse: Exodus 3:8

So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey

Key Thought

God wants to give you a picture of a preferred future.

The Voice of the Enemy

I see you have failed in your attempt to keep the human from hope. That is no matter—for if we keep the seed of hope in the darkness, it will remain dormant. We must prevent that seed from seeing the light of vision. What do I mean by this? I mean that you must keep the human from seeing a picture of the future that their Father has for them. By all means, keep them from dreaming. If the seed of hope sees even a ray of light from a future dream, the seed will sprout. Lead the human to think that hope is just a feeling.

Whatever you do, keep them stuck in their yesterdays. I’d rather you keep them stuck in the pain of their past, but if you must, keep them stuck in good memories. That will also work just fine. I would much prefer they live in memories of the “the good old days” than see a picture of what their Father has for their tomorrows. If they catch a glimpse of their future, our cause is in great trouble.

The Voice of the Father

My son/ my daughter, would you allow me to show you a picture of your future? I not only want you to get your hopes up, I want you to begin to dream again. Now, don’t tell me you can’t do it. I know you did when you were young. You dreamed of being a dancer, a football player, a scientist. I give you permission to dream again. I want to give you a picture of where I am leading you and the better days ahead. I want to show you the goodness of the land I am guiding you toward. I want to show you a glimpse of My future for you.

21 Days Of Freedom Introduction

What if you are free?

What if you just don’t fully realize it yet?

If this is indeed the case, doesn’t it make sense that the enemy would do everything in his power to keep you from realizing your freedom?

What if you could live free?

Is freedom possible? Absolutely! In order to see how, let’s take a look at one of the largest and most wide-spread occurrences of freedom from bondage in all of history—the deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery.

The Israelites

God’s chosen people, the Israelites, were in captivity for 400 years. Despite the brutal conditions, they were able not only to survive, but thrive.

The more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied (Exodus 1:12).

Suffering and hardship is a necessary part of the Christian life, however the bondage from the hardship is not. God wants His people to be free—free to worship Him, raise their families, grow, and thrive.

What if your past attempts at obtaining freedom were not failed attempts? What if you just stopped too soon? What if you came into an understanding of how God was working in your life, and partnered with the work of the Spirit to enter into a greater freedom than you ever thought possible?

God wants you to be completely free. He wants to undo layers of bondage in your life, one at a time, not to frustrate you, but so that you may be ultimately more free than ever.

Beginning Your Journey to Freedom

Are you ready to embark on this journey to freedom? Here’s a few things that will be important to understand:

  • We ALL have areas in our lives where we need freedom.

It wasn’t just some of the Israelites who needed freedom—they all did, from the least to the greatest, including Moses. When we think of “freedom from bondage,” we might think, “well, I’m not an addict, why would I need freedom?” However, what about anger, materialism, fear, worry, insecurity, the opinions of others… you get the idea. We all need freedom from something.

  • Sometimes it will get worse before it gets better.

We have to understand the “bricks without straw” principle. Pharaoh’s first response to Moses’s plea for freedom was to force the Israelites to gather their own straw for the bricks. Similarly, when we begin the process of engaging freedom, the enemy will try to make life harder. In fact it is often the very area in your life where you are experiencing the most resistance where God wants to bring your next breakthrough. Many who don’t understand this tactic of the enemy will quit. Breaking through to freedom is not for the faint of heart. Not only this, but the plagues stirred up opposition from the enemy; he doesn’t want to let you go because he’s scared to death of the power of your freedom.

  • When God exposes something in your life, it is for the purpose of freeing you from it.

In the next 21 days, you will uncover things in your life that will make you uncomfortable. Do not feel embarrassed, discouraged, or defeated. The underlying root cause of your bondage needs to be brought to the surface so it can be defeated and removed. God is exposing these areas not to shame you, but to free you!

In many cases, people want freedom but they’ve tried and failed, can’t envision life on the other side, or they don’t know how. Thus, we need:

  • HOPE
  • VISION
  • STEPS

What if someone gave you the roadmap to get there? What if you dared to take steps forward again?

Method and Rhythm

It takes twenty-one days to build a habit, so for the next twenty-one days we are going to follow this rhythm:

  • Five Days of Content
  • One Day of Review
  • One Day of Rest

For the days of content, each day will contain:

A Passage of Scripture

We encourage you to begin by reading the entire suggested passage as it will provide context. Also, the Holy Spirit will reveal additional insight to you as you read.

A Key Verse

While the entire passage is important, we have highlighted a key verse that can be used to bring focus to what the Holy Spirit is doing. It can be used for meditation throughout the day or even memorized.

A Key Thought

  • The Voice of the Enemy – In the style of C.S. Lewis’ classic Screwtape Letters, we will expose the works of the enemy by using dialog written from his perspective, as if he is writing to one of his young demons.
  • The Voice of the Father – Words from the passage are then written from the perspective of the Father, speaking over your life.

Questions

You will then find several questions; we encourage you to engage with them by writing out your responses. It is here that the work takes place. These questions will force you to confront things you have been avoiding, to face some demons you’ve been hiding, and to expose some things that perhaps you’ve been trying to cover up. It is here that the Holy Spirit will be at work, exposing these things not to bring shame, but to bring victory!

Review

On the sixth day, we encourage you to re-read your responses from the first five days. Remind yourself of what God has been speaking to you.

Rest

Remember the Sabbath. Take a day of rest. While you can begin this journey at any time, we encourage you to consider beginning on a Monday so that the review can occur on a Saturday and the day of rest would correspond with your day of worship at your church.

Are you ready to be free? God is going to lead you on this Journey to Freedom.

DIA 1 – Ten Esperanza

Biblia

Lea Exodo 6:1-13

“Muletas” emocionales

Excusas

Cargas financieras

Dolencia fisica

Cadenas de adición

El temor

Day 1 – Get Your Hopes Up

Bible

Read Exodus 6:1-13

Key Verse: Exodus 6:9

So Moses told the people of Israel what the Lord had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery.

Key Thought

Discouragement is the greatest tool of the enemy.

The Voice of the Enemy

(The enemy to his young demon). Here’s my plan: I want to destroy the human’s hope before it even has a chance to take root. You know how powerful hope is, don’t you? If the humans get ahold of hope, even just a tiny bit, it can be toxic to our cause. Don’t underestimate its power. We need to bring the attack full force because if the seed of hope is planted, it’s quite difficult to choke it out. Put thoughts in the humans minds like:

“Do you really think this is going to work? Go ahead! Get your hopes up… so I can dash them against the rocks just like I did last time. It’s better to have low expectations because then you can meet them every time. Remember how you felt last time you got your hopes up? Remember the disappointment with God? Remember the disappointment with yourself? How you felt like such a failure and were embarrassed to show your face in public? You thought everyone was looking at you, talking about you, judging you. You were certainly judging yourself, calling yourself ‘worthless’ and ‘a failure.’”

Do everything within your power to remind them of the brutality of their slavery. Keep their minds fixed upon their chains and their circumstances. Remind them of the people who have failed them. Remind them of every past failed attempt at freedom. Remind them of the seemingly unanswered prayers. Remind them of their weaknesses. If hope is the greatest tool of their father, then certainly discouragement is our mightiest weapon.

The Voice of the Father

My son/ my daughter, I know how the enemy is trying to discourage you. I know that he is filling your head with thoughts of past circumstances and failures. I know he is loudly reminding you of every person who has hurt and abandoned you.

I want you to know that things can change. I want you to know that you can change. I wouldn’t lie to you; I wouldn’t put promises in my Word just to fool you or trick you into getting your hopes up. I am a good Father, and a good Father would never do that to His children.

Through Christ, you are children of Abraham, children of the promise. You are heirs of hope. My words that I gave to my children thousands of years ago are still true for you today. Take a moment to read them. Read them out loud. Slowly. They are my words for you and for your future.

“I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression. I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your very own possession. I am the Lord!’” (Exodus 6:6-8)

Questions

Where have I lost hope because of discouragement?

Will I choose to hope again?

What does God want me to be free from in 2021?

Some examples include:

  • guilt and shame of past mistakes
